Exploring Grand Theft Auto VI: Extended Look and My Thoughts

GTA VI

A bit of a smaller and different post from me today, but one that feels like a fitting topic to reflect upon.

As the title of this post suggests, I wanted to take some time to share some thoughts and feelings following on from the recent extended look at Grand Theft Auto VI that has taken the internet by storm.

I will pre-face this before delving deeper into this post. I’ve played most of the games over the years here and there but never in great detail. I’ve enjoyed what I’ve played; however, they are not my usual type of game. Grand Theft Auto V is the one game in the franchise I know the most, although a lot of the time I was merely driving around the map, causing chaos along the way. Despite this, I’ve been curious and excited to see how this upcoming iteration of the game expands on such a popular and well-known franchise.

My Thoughts on the Extended Look

Being so close yet so far away from the actual release of Grand Theft Auto VI, it feels that now was a good time to release the extended look at the game. It was a nice way to get closer to the game and get a better idea as to what to expect when the game launches on 19th November 2026.

There certainly was plenty packed into the extended sneak peak right from the start. It certainly wasn’t short on drama and unexpected twists and turns. Of course, it was only a glimpse into what can be expected in the full game. The casual driving around the world, the chaos of an unexpected twist during a mission, the getaway, the police chases across the city, and the people who bring the city to life in the most obscure ways. There’s so much to discover and look forward to in the game.

As I previously mentioned, I’m not a seasoned Grand Theft Auto player, but I know the basics and what themes and experiences to expect in the games. While you can see the attention to detail is there throughout, it was nice to see a mix of action and adventure combined with some of the more causal moments between the characters.

Grand Theft Auto VI, GTA 6

There’s no denying that when Grand Theft Auto VI launches in a couple of months’ time, it’s going to be one of the most popular games we’ve seen in a long time. Just seeing how many people are excited, sharing their thoughts and theories, and it’s nice to see the community in general coming together to share that excitement.

Even though it’s only just a small glance at the game, you can see how much more alive and realistic the game looks. It has definitely opened up the world as well as introducing you to characters like Jay and Lucia. You get a good idea as to who they are as characters and that they aren’t afraid to jump in and take a risk here and there if it gets the job done.

Even though this isn’t a game, I personally will be picking up day one myself, I may eventually, some time down the road, buy it up if the price is right. It is a game that I’m interested to check out just to explore and see how it differs from the previous Grand Theft Auto games I’ve played. I know it’s one that my partner is likely to pick up as well as a number of my friends, so there will certainly be an opportunity to take a look once the game has eventually launched.

I think it’s also important to note that while Grand Theft Auto isn’t a game for everyone, the way it’s sparking conversations about its upcoming release, the anticipation, welcoming in new players, and returning players as well as long-term players. It’s a game that seems to always stand out when you look at gaming and the history of video games in general, and in some way, most people will know of or have played a Grand Theft Auto game in some way.

Is Grand Theft Auto VI a game that’s on your radar when it releases in November? What are your thoughts following the extended look video? Let me know in the comments down below!
