As you know, I love a good indie game, and the first eight months of this year have already seen some amazing new releases. With three months left of 2026, there’s still plenty of time to pack in some more exciting indie releases.
For today’s post, I was inspired by Luna over at Luna’s Gaming Blog to share some indie games I’m looking forward to that are due to release by the end of this year. So here is a selection of the many indie games on my radar!

Witchbrook
Even though no firm release date has been set for Witchbrook as far as we know, it’s still planned to be launching this year. Witchbrook is one highly anticipated game that has long been in production, and I know I’m not alone when I say I can’t wait to explore Mossport. Learn magic, play with friends and discover the secrets hidden within the game.
Witchbrook is planned to release on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam and Xbox later this year.
Grave Seasons
This is a game that surprised me when I first saw its announcement, but it’s one I’ve been curious about ever since. A narrative-driven experience where it mixes farming, foraging and crafting with a much darker, horror side that you need to investigate. Essentially you have one year, yes, just one year, to protect the victims from a supernatural serial killer.
Grave Seasons launches later this year on Xbox, PlayStation 5 and Steam.
Dressmaker
As a kid, I was always drawing different outfits and even had one of those stencil sets you could colour over to create different looks. Dressmaker brings those young designer dreams to life. In Dressmaker you’ll design and create a variety of dresses for a number of clients. Cut the pieces, sew them together, add the finer details and create some bespoke pieces.
You can also pet the cat!
Dressmaker launches on Steam on 21st September 2026.
Otterly Lost
Play as an adorable sea otter called Otto who sadly is on a quest to find his way back home after a mysterious event took him to somewhere unknown. Explore the sea, make friends, build tools and collectibles, customise your look and just explore at your own pace.
I adored the demo of Otterly Lost when I played it earlier in the year, so this is one game that is on my radar when it launches.
Otterly Lost launches 23rd September 2026 on Steam.
Over The Hill
I somehow forgot about Over The Hill until Gamescom; however, it was straight back on my radar!
Take a step back into the golden age of off-roading and explore a variety of trails in iconic vehicles from the 60s to 80s. Team up with friends or drive solo and drive through stunning locations, solve challenges to help progress and take on each situation in your stride. With plenty to explore, photos to document your travels and discoveries, and customising your off-roader. Players will really be able to take in everything, and there’s no race or right or wrong way to explore.
Over The Hill launches on Steam on 14th October 2026.
Loftia
Last but not least is Loftia. An upcoming MMO game with a focus on creating a cosy, sustainable world in the floating skies. You can farm, craft, explore, decorate and collect and see that shared world grow over time!
I played one of the closed beta’s and adored it, and it made me even more excited for the game’s release this autumn! This is definitely one game not to miss out on if you like this kind of game.
Loftia launches on Steam in early access later this year!
Indie Games Galore!
These are just some of the many indie games still to come by the end of this year. Of course, this is merely a small snapshot of the indie games I’m looking forward to. There are so many that it was somewhat difficult to narrow it down to just six.
