8 Standout Narrative Games From LudoNarraCon 2026

Despite having worked through most of LudoNarraCon recently, I finally managed to find some time to sit down and take a look at some of the amazing games showcased during the event.

Now, if you haven’t heard of LudoNarraCon before, it’s a free online event dedicated to showcasing incredible upcoming and recently released narrative-driven and interactive games. All of these are games from a wide range of indie developers and studios.

Hosted by Fellow Traveller, the event has continued to grow year upon year. Not only does it showcase some incredible talent, but it also gives many people the opportunity to dive in and explore hundreds of demos of the games taking part.

LudoNarraCon

For me, this would be my third LudoNarraCon event and each year I enjoy it more and more. Since I first learnt about the event in the early days of writing about games, it’s helped me in so many ways. Not only to learn about so many wonderful games but also to shine a light on and gain a new appreciation for narrative-driven games in general.

Whether you are someone who loves narrative-driven and interactive games or are new to the genre, LudoNarraCon is the perfect place to start discovering your next favourite game and even some hidden gems along the way!

Enough about LudoNarraCon in general; I wanted to use this post to highlight some of my favourite standout games from this year’s event. So without further ado, let’s jump in!

Apple Crumble

Apple Crumble is a new creepy but cosy mystery thriller from the same studio that brought us the Duck Detective games. You’re celebrating your Grandma’s 84th birthday, and nobody there is trying to commit murder of a family member. There’s no need to suspect various family members, not even the strange man standing in your bedroom.

Apple Crumble releases on Steam on 3rd December 2026.

Bad Magpie

To put it simply, you play as a magpie experiencing the world with one wing, missing from the flock and a very worrying obsession with a shiny fallen star. As you play through the game, steal sparkly trinkets, cause chaos everywhere you go and stick your beak where it well and truly doesn’t need to be!

Bad Magpie is scheduled to release in 2027 on Steam.

Danchi Days

Set in 2000s Japan, take on this slice-of-life, comedic yet bittersweet story in a local neighbourhood. Play as a young resident called Hoshino and revive a long-forgotten summer festival, get to know your neighbours and uncover truths and maybe some secrets about your Grandma, who is living with dementia.

Danchi Days is out on 29th October 2026 on Steam.

ITHACA

Itcha is a game that is a mix of a narrative road trip game with RPG elements about environmental resistance. You take on the role of Penelope, who is a young environmental rights lawyer. As the game progresses, she drives towards making some of the most important decisions of her life.

There is currently no confirmed release date for Ithaca.

OPUS: Prism Peak

Explore the Dusklands in OPUS: Prism Peak after becoming stranded. Play as a weary photographer in this narrative adventure, helping a young girl who has lost her memories. Travel together, uncover mysteries within the Dusklands and document the adventure through your camera lens.

OPUS: Prism Peak is out now on Steam.

Perfect Tides: Station to Station

A unique narrative adventure which explores the momentum and whiplash many young adults experience. You’ll play as Mara, an 18-year-old in the big city. Collect items, nurture ideas and navigate complex relationships while trying to find where you belong in the world.

Perfect Tides: Station to Station is out now on Steam.

The Marvelous Raincaster of Yell Holler

A game all about a time-looping puzzle focuses on the Ozark folk superstition. Your mission: reorder the events to unravel the mysteries of the weather-controlling rooster.

There is currently no confirmed release date for The Marvelous Raincaster of Yell Holler.

WORK WORK WORK

You’ve heard the saying, ‘eat, sleep, work, repeat ‘; well, WORK WORK WORK follows a similar cycle as such. Once in-game, you’ll explore the Triquetra company and will need to find clues, gather information and finally discover the truth about living and working.

There is currently no confirmed release date for WORK WORK WORK.

These are just eight games from LudoNarraCon 2026 that have got my interest. Some I have played the demos for already and have really enjoyed, others I still need to make my way through. There certainly are some different ones, and ones I’m surprised appealed to me more than I thought, and that’s one of the many reasons why LudoNarraCon is such a fun digital event.

While the event will be coming to an end soon, there’s still plenty of time to check out the LudoNarraCon event page on Steam as well as the exclusive Story Rich Mega Bundle!

Let me know in the comments below if you discovered any new favourite games during LudoNarraCon this year!
