Oh, how do I have the most adorable and cosy game for you today! Let me introduce you to Woodo.
Woodo is the recently released and highly anticipated release from Tiny Monks Tales. A game where players find themselves piecing together a variety of dioramas together piece by piece. Accompanied by Foxy and Ben the Frog, watch bright and vibrant colours bring the world to life.

In Woodo, the game features several accessibility options. These include colourblind mode, hints and how they are displayed, as well as the magentism of how easily the pieces will snap into place.
My Thoughts
From the moment you step into Woodo, you are captivated by its stunning and charming world. At first, you piece together a treasure chest adorned with decorations. This is all before you enter the game’s title screen. Naturally it all clicks, and the chest unlocks and transports you into the world captured in Woodo.
Presented with a map, which represents Foxy’s memories, we start with our first memory, and you start to uncover the accompanying story of the game with Foxy and Ben as you work through the first level and beyond. Each diorama starts as a blank canvas, and one by one you piece together. Reintroduce the colour and bring it back to life. No timers. No pressure, just wholesome, nostalgic, charming vibes.
Piecing the diorama together is easy. This can be done by using the Joycons by default or the touchscreen. For me, I found myself using a combination of the two which worked really well. It was smooth and responsive, and placing each different jigsaw puzzle piece was satisfying. I loved the little animations that you discover when completing some of the different aspects of the dioramas, bringing another level of depth to these highly detailed wooden masterpieces!
Woodo is more than just a game about placing pieces into cute and adorable display pieces. It’s a story about slowing down, looking at things with a new perspective and knowing that sometimes a change of scenery is totally okay. This reflects within the game’s story and Foxy’s own experiences with Ben the Frog; however, I won’t spoil the story for you, as it is such a lovely one which happily drifts alongside you as you play.
Although Woodo might have a short game time, it’s the perfect amount of time. I can’t wait to jump back in again and settle down to completing the dioramas again soon. It has been the perfect game to cosy down with after a run of long shifts at work. It was nice to have the game to escape into for some time before getting back to it again. However, it also filled me with that childhood nostaligia. Playing with small wooden toys, creating stories and taking the fun and games of childhood wonder and imagination to the great outdoors. A game that truly deserves to be checked out!
