A very adorable looking game demo recently dropped into my emails, and curious and excited to check it out. It’s a game that’s slightly different to one I would normally play but felt this was perfect to try out and see what it’s all about!

On-Together is described as a cosy multiplayer social-chatroom game that focuses on productivity when the moments matter and having time to unwind and socialize during breaks. Featuring a lovely and fun art style and accompanied by some fun and relaxing music, On-Together is your perfect on-screen buddy!

Exploring the On-Together Island

First up, upon loading up the demo for the first time, I got to create my own in-game character and customize them in a variety of ways. There was also an option to choose a Pet and Desk, although Desks will be added in the full release of On-Together.

I was surprised at how customizable your character can be from changing facial features, skin tone, hairstyle as well as a variety of different clothing options all ranging in a variety of colours. What I also liked was how you could have a bit of a sneak peek at some of the options that I’m guessing will be unlockable or available in the full release. There’s also the option to buy some pieces with an in game currency, which I’m guessing you earn over time when playing. Luckily, you start with a small amount of this currency to spend at the start.

Now, we quickly needed to create our Identification Card, and then we were ready to set off into On-Together properly!

I started off by creating my own private lobby space. This was to give me an opportunity to explore On-Together on my own for a little bit, understand the user interface and generally what I could discover at my own pace. It’s actually really easy to set up a private or public space to play, either on your own or with friends!

Now I’m in the game exploring for the first time, I wanted to explore more of the social side of the game. I started off purely by walking around the world. I came a cross a few different areas and some shops. The shops sold a variety of food and drinks that can be purchased using the in game tickets. I also came across a fishing cabin, after discovering I could go fishing, which is a lovely little feature too.

When purchasing certain items in game, it does appear that some will give you some cosmetic changes for a limited time. One that took me by surprise was when purchasing candy floss, my character suddenly had a candy floss beard after finishing eating it. I’m not even mad about it, either!

There are also a couple of drinks that give you superfast running speeds and enhanced jumping height too!

After acquiring a rather interesting candy floss beard, I was back exploring. I found myself in a study area and took the time to look into the productivity and focus tools that come with the game.

Focus & Productivity Features

So, let’s dive into the features that have been designed to help you focus on those super important tasks and keep you productive!

There are six different focus tasks your character can take part in including Art, Writing, Eating, Reading, Connect and Listening. Each has an adorable animation to go with it while you carry out the task.

You can also set the timer, for different periods of time to keep on track and depending on how long you need, there are different types of timers too!

You will also earn Tickets, the in game currency, every time you carry out a Focus Session. These can be used to purchase and unlock a variety of items and cosmetics in the game.

Better still, you can also change how the game displays when you need to focus. You can keep the game full screen, locate it at the top or bottom of your screen, to the side or even just as your character on screen! This is all done easily using the tabs on the right-hand side of your screen.

Don’t forget, you can also cycle through the music and customize what song you want to listen to while you are in game!

While there are a number of different places you can sit down and start a Focus Session, one of my favourite is the library area, and I’m sure this will be a popular spot when playing in a lobby with others!

To also help you, you can create a To-Do List, compose journal entries, add important dates to your calendar and also keep hold of any important items in your character’s backpack!

Multiplayer

I currently haven’t played alongside my friends in On-Together just yet, however I’m very excited to try it out. I think it will be good fun collaborating together to have Focus Session and just socializing using the in-game chat features.

I do have a multiplayer session planned with some friends so that we can give it a go altogether when the demo fully launches! I’m excited to see what fun features I can discover with my friends!

Having Fun with On-Together

Although the full island was not available to explore, the demo for On-Together has plenty to showcase ahead of the full release. I also liked stumbling across all the random little areas where you can have fun. Be it fishing, playing basketball, running across the island and seeing how far you can jump. I also discovered you can go swimming and also play around with various emotes too!

Overall Demo Thoughts

On-Together’s demo really surprised me and I loved every moment I’ve spent with it. GigaPuff, the team behind the game, have done an excellent job with the game and I can’t wait to see the full release in the near future.

From the art style, music, features and everything in between, I can see this as a game I’ll find handy having running when I need to focus a little bit more. In fact, I actually had it running at the side of my screen while I worked on this post.

I could tell it was helping as I felt more productive while writing and set it so every so often, I would stop, take a quick break, explore On-Together a little bit more and then return to another Focus Session in a new location.

On-Together Demo

I’m curious to see what other places there are to discover in On-Together, as well as what other activities I can get up to on my own and with friends in multiplayer.

So, if you are looking for a game that blends productivity and focus features together with fun activities and multiplayer aspects all in a chilled and relaxing environment then, On-Together is just the thing for you!

The On-Together Demo launches on 29th September 2025 on Steam with the full game releasing later this year!

Thank you Future Friends Games and GigaPuff for giving me the opportunity to check out the On-Together Demo ahead of time!
