Wish List Wednesday (May 2024)

May seems to have been jam-packed with more upcoming game releases, updates and more from games both large and small.

In addition, the lovely people over at The Pillow Fort hosted a Spring Showcase of over thirty amazing and incredible games from talented teams worldwide.

Before I jump into sharing the games I’ve added to my wish list, feel free to take a look at The Pillow Fort’s Spring Showcase below first!

Covering a vast number of gaming genres from action, adventure and RPG all the way through to simulation games, visual novels, and cosy games. The showcase featured a diverse range of games, with many being added straight onto my wish list.

As much as I want to share all of the games that are currently on my wish list, I know this post will end up being incredibly long, however, here are some of my standout games from The Pillow Fort Games Spring Showcase that I’m looking forward to checking out in the future!

Action, Adventure and RPG

Sitting down at the end of a busy to unwind with a game is ultimately one of my favourite things to do and naturally, I love getting stuck into a good old action-adventure or RPG game.

Tinkerlands

A mixture of several genres that creates a truly unique experience in the gaming world. Tinkerlands takes the likes of open-world survival craft and RPG adventure with the optional dash of co-op play. The art style and just how bright and colourful the game is just added to placing this game on my wish list.

Tinkerlands is penned to release in early 2025 on PC, Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch.

The Last Craftsman

Farming, crafting, exploration, fishing. A beautiful art style, full of mystery, and did I mention card battles? The Last Craftsman has so much to offer players, and more people need to know about this game!

The Last Craftsman is to release this year on PC.

Simulation & Management

Now, I’m a bit of a sucker for simulation games, but usually find myself sticking with the likes of life simulations or even city builders. Most notably The Sims franchise, Sim City and Cities Skylines.

Vivaland

I’ve been following Vivaland for some time now, and seeing how the game has developed over the past few years has been wonderful. In a way, with all the upcoming life simulation games coming out, Vivaland has to be one of the ones I’ve followed more closely and could be a game that many The Sims players will take the opportunity to explore. For me, naturally, I’m curious to explore another life simulation game.

Vivaland is to be released in 2024 on PC.

Interactive Fiction & Visual Novels

This is a genre that I’ve slowly been exploring more over the past couple of years. There truly are some amazing hidden gems in this genre. With plenty of amazing ones on the horizon, here are two of my favourites that I’m looking forward to!

Sunset Hills

Another gorgeous looking game with that warm and cosy, wholesome storybook feel! However, what truly captured my attention was not only the art style but, how this upcoming narrative game has taken the opportunity to branch into the open-world genre of gaming. An interesting combination that from watching the trailer has worked paw-fectly for Sunset Hills!

Luckily, Sunset Hills will be launching in August 2024 on PC, with more console releases to follow!

Cosy and Casual Games

Who doesn’t love a good old cosy game or a game that you can pick up and put down with no worries as to what you did last? Either way, there are so many wonderful cosy and casual games on the horizon. Truthfully, I wish I could share them all but who knows just how long we would be here if I listed all of my favourites?

Just Crow Things

Chaos. Absolute chaos, but you play as a crow who just wants to steal all the shiny objects they can find! I mean, what more could you want?

Just Crow Things doesn’t have a release date yet, but hopefully, the wait won’t be too long. Upon release, the game will be available on PC, Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch as well as PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

These are just some of the many games showcased in The Pillow Fort Spring Showcase that have been added to my wish list. There are some true hidden gems featured just waiting to be discovered when each of these games are released!

Be sure to check out The Pillow Fort Spring Showcase video above, or you can catch their handy and detailed special showcase article here.

Don’t forget to let me know which games you are looking forward to releasing too!
