A super quick little post today, and this time we are looking at the Steam Next Fest Loftia demo. Now, Loftia is one of my most anticipated games of the year, and this demo certainly has confirmed that for me. I know the eight days or so between the demo ending and Loftia launching into early access is going to feel like an eternity!

Loftia Release Trailer
In short, Loftia is the highly anticipated, upcoming cosy massively multiplayer online (MMO) game set in a solarpunk-inspired world where cosy vibes meet working together with other Loftians to help bring a vibrant, sustainable world to life.
Take a look at the trailer below to get a peek into the world of Loftia.
Loftia Demo vs Steam Deck
On a whim, I decided to install Loftia on my Steam Deck, curious to see how it would play, and I’m wondering why I didn’t do so to start with. It ran so smoothly. No issues at all, and it was just such a pleasure to play handheld rather than on my PC. The controls on the Steam Deck were easy to adapt to, and all worked seamlessly when playing.
It was also nice that I could easily switch between playing the Loftia Demo on PC and pick up right where I last left off on Steam Deck and vice versa. Definitely can see myself continuing to switch between the two when the game launches into early access. For those with a Steam Deck, I would honestly look into Loftia upon its early access release next week.

Overall Demo Thoughts
Simply, I loved it!
Before the demo ends for Steam Next Fest, I finished the available main story, which was a great introduction to a variety of characters in Loftia. It also did an excellent job, without being overwhelming, building up the story and giving you as the player an idea as to what’s been happening and how to help next. Of course, I’m now eager to know what happens next in the story, but that will have to wait.
However, outside of the main story, I found myself really enjoying building up my skills in carpentry, growing crops, unleashing my inner fashionista, building gliders and hanging out with other Loftians. I really enjoyed the variety of things you can do in the demo. Even with the main story aspect complete, I still found myself with so much I could do. Each of these helping hone my skills and knowledge in the game.

With just a few hours left, I was taking in what I could in Loftia. With progress transferring over to the early access version next week, I didn’t find myself pressured to get everything done in time.
Outside of the main story and the supporting story side quests, I found myself just running around enjoying the scenery, collecting resources, and joining in with the various treasure hunts and don’t drop the ball mini-game. I also tried my hand at some adventures as well, although I need to work on my directions, as I kept getting a little lost at times.
There’s still a lot to learn about the game towards the end of its demo and as we head into the early access, which I can’t wait for!
Despite all this, the Loftia demo has truly been one of my favourite demos to check out during this October Steam Next Fest. It does feel like it’s home and a game that I’ve been missing in my current game rotation. I’m incredibly excited for the game’s launch into early access on 3rd November 2026, and you best be sure that I’ll be sharing more Loftia content going forward too!
