Loftia, the highly anticipated, upcoming cosy massively multiplayer online (MMO) game set in a solarpunk inspired world, launches its closed beta experience later today! After a successful alpha testing period a few months ago, this new beta will give Loftians more of a hands on experience as to what to expect when the game launches later this year.
For me, this is one game I’ve been following the development of for some time now. From the early days of the Loftia team’s posts on Instagram all the way through to now. Seeing the game progress from early ideas and designs to now has been something, and I’m incredibly excited to see it getting closer to its launch, especially with the closed beta just hours away.
Now if you haven’t heard about Loftia before or know much about the game, here’s a quick rundown of the game and what it is all about.

The Closed Beta Cinematic Trailer
Most recently, the Loftia team revealed an exciting new trailer especially for the closed beta. Packed full of fun and never before seen details, you’ll follow Loftia’s friendly mascot Pebble as they explore the three districts in Loftia. Take a look below!
What did you think?
So let’s break down some of the things that you can see in this short cinematic feature trailer.
Farming & Crops
Early on in the trailer we get the chance to see an area where various characters are growing crops and tending to them. Who doesn’t love farming?
It does look like there could be an element of automation farming involved depending on how you progress with farming in general. However, it looks like you may be able to team up with other players, friends and possibly NPCs so that you can farm together!

Gliding Through the Skies
What better way to traverse the world of Loftia than by gliding through the skies?
See the world of Loftia from a new perspective and soar to your next destination!

Fishing with Friends
You can’t have a cosy themed game without a spot of fishing. Better still, why not go fishing with friends?

Work as a Team
It appears that you’ll be able to work alongside others to help tidy up and reclaim areas that have seen better days. From there it seems players will be able to give these areas a new lease of life!

Don’t Forget to have Fun
It’s important to remember that despite working hard, you’ll need time to stop and have fun too!

Fresh, Cool Outfits
Who doesn’t love a fresh new outfit? Even from this quick sneak peek, it appears we’ll have a number that we can choose from. I’m hoping we’ll be able to also customise or even create these ourselves using in game materials.

Even More Skills & Trades
While it was very brief, it looks like players in Loftia will be able to learn more hands on skills, such as a carpentry style building skill, allowing players to craft various machines and objects. These could help with day to day living in Loftia or even just furniture and helpful objects.

Exciting Locations to Explore
Throughout this Loftia cinematic trailer, there are a number of different locations shown. From the moment we step into the trailer right the way through to the end.
Here’s a little slideshow showcasing some of the ones shown.
Closed Beta Details
With the closed beta launching later today at 2pm PDT/10pm GMT, you might be curious as to how to get involved. While a number of closed beta keys have already been given out, some official Loftia creators have been sharing opportunities to get involved with a chance to receive a key. It’s important to note that these keys are solely for the closed beta and not for the game itself.
Many Loftia creators will likely be sharing content, be it streaming, creating YouTube videos, TikToks or Instagram posts, to name a few. Be sure to check out to see if your favourite creators will be sharing Loftia content over the next few weeks.
Be sure to keep an eye on the Loftia social media accounts during the closed beta for any possible opportunities too!
As for the closed beta itself, while it launches today, it will be on PC only and will run until 6th May 2026. This two week period will really allow the Loftia team to really see how the game works, see anything that needs to be worked on and ultimately see what players think of the game ahead of the next stages in the run up to the release later this year.
Loftia Release
While no official release date is set just yet, we do know that Loftia is coming this year. The game is planned to launch on PC, Mac and Nintendo Switch consoles. The team are looking into expanding the game to launch on the likes of mobile and additional consoles in the future as well as becoming a Steam Deck verified game also.
The Loftia team already has a comprehensive FAQ section on the game’s website that answers a lot of the early questions many players already have. You can find the Loftia FAQs here.
Future Loftia Content
I was very kindly given a closed beta key for Loftia, so I will have some content heading this way soon as well as sharing some bits on social media as and when I can. However, when the game officially launches, I’ll be purchasing it to check out the game in more detail and sharing my experiences then.
I can honestly say, like many, to be able to dive into Loftia so soon is going to be great fun. With so much to learn, explore and discover, it’s going to be tough to do everything before the closed beta period ends. However, it’s important to remember that the wait to jump back into the game won’t be too long. I truly can’t wait to see what the Loftia team has created in this unique, cosy MMO style game!
Could it truly be the next big generational game that combines player favourite cosy game features mixed with unqiue solarpunk inspired elements all while being able to team up with friends and the community? We’ll have to wait and see!
Are you looking forward to Loftia? Maybe you’ll be jumping into the closed beta as well? Let me know in the comments what you are excited for in Loftia.
