Looking for a short and sweet game to play? Well, I’ve got just the thing for you today!
Let me introduce you to A Dream About Parking Lots.
In Interactive Dreams’ game, you’ll find yourself caught up between a maze of cars scattered through a parking lot. You have no idea what the car looks like, and your only clue is the key itself. While you are searching for the car, you’ll be discussing these dreams, about parking lots with your therapist.
A Dream About Parking Lots is a tale of a personal story. One that explores anxiety and creative blocks. All combined into this short 30-40 minute narrative experience. It’s a journey of reflection in a number of different ways, one that many people will likely be able to relate to in some way.

Is It Always About Parking Lots?
A Dream About Parking Lots is a game that is a quick and straight forward game to play through, but also thought-provoking.
You play as the Dreamer, having conversations with your therapist. Each dream is one of your appointments, and within those moments you are solving the puzzle as to where your car is located. However, you are also trying to figure out one of many possible reasons as to why you are searching for this car in the first place. Why you keep dreaming about cars in parking lots.
In the first dream, you’ll not only be guided through the game’s controls, you’ll find yourself answering a series of questions from the therapist. Sometimes you’ll be prompted to answer from one of several potential outcomes, sometimes the dialogue will just flow. With multiple options for how the conversation could go, it did leave me taking a moment to think first before I settled on an option. Once you find your car, you can leave, although advised that you finish your conversation with the therapist first.
You progress through the different levels, well different dreams, by clicking your car keys in search for your car, all while talking to the therapist. Each level has a different setting, be it a multi-story parking lot, a forest, a campsite and more. It helps bring the conversations to life more, along with the accompanying soundtrack.

It took me around thirty-minutes for my first play through, and I felt that I progressed through the game at a steady pace alongside the conversations with the therapist. At no point did I find any part of the Dreamer’s journey overwhelming while try to search for my many, many cars. It was actually nice to just stroll around and take in the points being made in the conversation.
It got me wondering about how many variations of the dreams and the conversations there are between the Dreamer and Therapist. It certainly was interesting to reflect on the Dreamer’s journey through the game, since the story is inspired by real life experiences. I’ll definitely be playing through the game a few more times to see what variances I get from my first time playing.
So, if you are looking for an interesting and reflective narrative game to check out, why not have a look at A Dream About Parking Lots?
The game is out now on Steam for ยฃ3.39 and will be launching on Nintendo Switch, Xbox and PlayStation consoles on 31st July 2025!
