Today, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone thanks to Thunderful Games and the Thunderful Insiders Creator Program! I’m diving into a game that isn’t my usual cup of tea, however, I’m actually incredibly excited to check it out! The game in question is Lost in Random The Eternal Die, the recently launched sequel to the 2021 release, Lost in Random!

This is the first game that I’ve had the honour to explore since joining the Thunderful Insiders crew and while rouge-lite games aren’t my usual go-to, I’ve heard nothing but great things from other Insiders as well as across the internet!

However, what is Lost in Random The Eternal Die actually all about?

Well, it’s an action packed rouge lite game set in the world of Random. You find yourself playing as Queen Aleksandra and accompanied by the living die-companion Fortune. Together you’ll go up against the ancient evil that stole every little thing from her!

Now, have a look at the trailer for an even closer look at Lost in Random: The Eternal Die!

Time to Roll the Die!

Upon launching the game for the first time, Steam prompted to me to considering playing with a controller for the best experience. So, I did just that. Grabbed my Xbox controller, chose my difficulty setting which, I stuck with normal this time around and rolled my way into the game!

Even at this point, I wasn’t sure what to expect or just how easy it would be to learn how the game works. Luckily, the tutorial helped me nail the basics before letting me loose in the actual game. This accompanied by some opening lore certainly set the scene for me.

Now, I’m facing my first handful of rooms with enemies. Actual real, will steal my health enemies along with Fortune. Time to hone my skills from the tutorial and do some damage, which, surprisingly, went to plan. Just need to remember the spikes and to not run over them.

I do know I’ve got a lot to learn when it comes to the likes of Ability Cards, Relics, Blessings and making the most of these upgrades and extras. It does feel a little overwhelming right now, however, I am still in my first ever play through of Lost in Random The Eternal Die.

I’m sure as I play through and start to understand the story, I’ll begin to figure out what works well, what my best options are and just overall, somewhat more knowledgeable.

Thoughts So Far

It’s easy to say that despite my initial nerves and uncertainty, I’ve really been enjoying my time with Lost in Random The Eternal Die. I can’t fault my experience so far, and I’m very excited to dive in deeper and continue to follow the story.

As I haven’t played the first Lost in Random game, criminal I know, I feel there will be a few things I won’t fully understand but don’t worry I’ll be checking that out as well! I will, soon! Yet, despite this, the story you follow with Queen Aleksandra and Fortune is interesting and certainly has me wondering more as to what could or might happen next.

I’m also looking forward to adding this to my Steam Deck as well so that I can play anytime and not just at my PC. I feel it will be a good game that regardless of how much time I’ve got to play, I can jump straight in and continue my run.

What I do like about Lost in Random The Eternal Die is not only the dice mechanism, but also how each run is different and one of a kind. It really does make for a unique experience each time. I’m certainly looking forward to plenty more runs in the game, as well as following the story and discovering the answers to my questions!

So, if you are looking for a new game to add to your collection, why not check out Lost in Random The Eternal Die? The game is out now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. A free demo is also available for the game on Steam!
