Diving Into The Demo
The Tales of Seikyu demo allows players to experience the first three days of the game. Additionally, those who play the demo, will also unlock an exclusive clothing set and your progress will carry over to the main game releases its Early Access version.
Upon diving into a new game, we were presented with a short cut scene. This gave us some more information on how we ended up going to Seikyu as well as an insight into our story ahead. Were we ready to go on a journey of discovery, love and adventure? Only time will tell I guess!
But what did the first three days of being in Seikyu look like for you?
Day One: Tour of Seikyu and Getting to Know the Locals
Upon arriving in Seikyu, we quickly went to check in with the adorable Seabert!
Fast and efficient in ensuring all the documents regarding our residential status were ready and in check. Nothing that an Otter can’t handle! We were also informed that the Mayor of Seikyu, Yui Oda would be personally giving us a tour of the island. With that said, we were quickly off on the tour, meeting the locals and exploring what the town had to offer.
After spending some time exploring, looting resources from various places and getting to know all the locals, falling into the water at the docks more times than we’d like to admit and petting the cats and dogs, we were off to meet Mayor Oda again.
This time, we were on our way to our home. However, we first had to stop by the first Fox Shrine. Of course, being Yokai, this was a way that we could connect with our ancestors. The shrines also provide a way to teleport around Seikyu! We also got a glimpse at our Fox Form for the first time too, however, no spoilers as to what it is!

Now, we are finally on our way to our dream home! Not without a detour or two to engage in some combat and collect some more resources.
Finally, we arrived. All the hard work my character and Kon (our sister) had put in had finally paid off initially. It was surreal to be stood there and think about how the farmhouse would become the dream house as you progress through the game.

With that said, it was time to rest for the day and see what the day ahead had in store for us!
Day Two: Learning the Ropes
Day Two kicked off with myself and Kon doing a little bit of farming thanks to a gift from one of the locals. Learning how to cultivate the land, plant seeds and watch them grow!
The day then progressed into exploring more of Seikyu, taking on enemies, collecting resources and completing some more quests and requests from the locals.
This is also where we learnt to fish and spent a lot of the second day fishing and selling fish as our inventory was pretty full.
The day ended off with a run through the island back home before a good night sleep.

Day Three: Mysterious Forest Music
Much like day two, I checked on my crops which were making slow but steady progress and then proceeded to complete another side quest. This time I was greeted with a reminder to attend the Bonfire Festival later that day. Until then, the day was mine! However, after some exploring, I soon realised I was running late and was quickly ushered over to the Bonfire Festival.
The festival was lovely, and I got to meet more of the locals and strike up some initial conversations with each of them. With the festival then coming to a close, I was about to take my character and Kon home before being stopped by two of the festival-goers.
A somewhat shady conversation, requiring my potential involvement for my consideration. Just ever so slightly suspicious, but we will have to wait for the full game before we find out the real meaning behind this!

Overall Demo Thoughts
Tales of Seikyu is one game I’ve been looking forward to for some time now. Being able to explore the demo has reassured me that I was right to be excited.
Even though the demo is purely a snapshot of what to come, it showcased plenty to introduce you to the game and the world of Seikyu. From giving you the basics of combat, fulfilling the locals requests, Fox Shrines and more.
There’s a charm about Tales of Seikyu that I can’t quite put my finger on just yet. Something full of mystery and surprise that I feel will keep taking me by surprise the further I get into the game once it’s released.

With that aside, the demo was wonderful. Each and every local of Seikyu stood out from one another. I loved how each conversation felt specific to that character, which in time will help you decide which of the fourteen locals you can romance.
Exploring the world and just navigating the world was stress-free, and I was just taking in how pretty the world was while trying to avoid the enemies. Creating our dream house over time with new furniture, selling crops to make money, taking on requests and more really will help bring the world of Seikyu to live all while you discover the accompanying story.
There is a lot more I could say about Tales of Seikyu, but doing so would likely spoiler the demo experience, and I don’t want to do that. However, if you love cosy farming simulation games, Tales of Seikyu is one to keep on your radar!
Don’t forget, you can also pet the cats and dogs!

Don’t forget, there is still a short amount of time to check out the Tales of Seikyu demo. Alternatively, you can wishlist it right now on Steam ahead of the game’s early access launch!
