Just over three weeks ago, Infinity Nikki launched worldwide. The team describes it as the cosiest open-world game out there—truth be told, they’re not wrong!
The game has taken the world by storm, with over ten million downloads across all platforms—and this number is growing daily! However, it’s not just the number of downloads that is impressive but, also the community the game has brought together. With players from previous Nikki games to brand-new players, just like myself, joining the community. Helping one another, sharing tips and tricks, outfit looks and so much more. I honestly love the game’s community.
As for today, I wanted to share my initial thoughts on my own experience with Infinity Nikki. In a way, I guess you could call this a review but a summary of my thoughts on the game so far.
The Story So Far
As I write this, I am currently working through Chapter Eight of the main story. I’m at the point where I need a lot of resources. Now, I thought I was being smart and just collecting resources here and there when in fact, I should have been doing a lot more, earlier on in the game. That’s okay though. It now means I can spend a little more time exploring and hunting down the different resources I need to progress.
With that aside, I honestly can not fault the story of Infinity Nikki. It was a warm cosy hug that pulled you in and then surprised you with twists and turns. Unexpected plot surprises and a real roller coaster of emotions at times. I found myself not really paying attention to which chapter I was in but just going with the flow, being pulled deeper into the captivating story.
While I’m still not quite at the end of the story just yet, I can honestly say this has been one of my favourite stories to play through in a game recently.

The World of Miraland
Stunning. Gorgeous. Beautiful.
The world is just on another level. The detail in the world is outstanding. The colours come to life be it night or day regardless of which area you are in. It’s so much bigger than I expected; there’s still plenty left to explore. Every time I jump into the game, I find areas I’ve not explored or have rediscovered. Activating more fast travel spires and sometimes just taking a casual stroll through the different areas of the game.
Each and every area is unique and stands out from one another. Each with its own story, its legacy. The residents who make each of these areas what they are. The story allows you to dive deeper into each area to truly discover every single aspect. Returning time and time again, and spotting things I missed the first time around.
I can’t fault the world of Miraland at all so far, and I’ve got my fingers crossed that we’ll be able to explore even more soon!

Quests
I’ve already touched briefly on how much I’ve loved the main story of Infinity Nikki, but what about the quests? Not just the main quests but all of them. I’m far from completing every quest in the game, but I’ve enjoyed switching between the Main, World, Random and Exclusive quests when I’ve been playing.
Being able to switch between what you focus on in the game is so freeing. There have been days when I’ve wanted to just do some easier more straightforward tasks and just take it easy. On other days I’ve found myself completing chunks of the story and making some wonderful progress. At no point have the quests pressured me to get things completed in a particular way.
As I’m nearing the end of the main story, I’m quite looking forward to the new Interlude Chapter that is being added to the game on 30th December 2024. While I’m still a way off of it, it is something I can look forward to exploring.
Styling
Okay, so I know creating looks and discovering your inner Stylist is all part of the game but truly who knew a Dress Up Game would be so much fun!
As someone who has spent many years playing various life simulation games, creating my character’s look was one thing but in Infinity Nikki it takes it to a whole different level. That’s even before you start diving into the specifics of individual clothing items, Style Challenges, Factions and Sovereigns!
Not only that but the sheer level of detail in every single aspect of clothing is amazing. It’s mesmerizing, it truly is!

Events
While the game has only been out for a few weeks, the in-game events we’ve had so far have been great fun. Companion’s Day was cute and adorable while still engaging enough to play through and complete all the different sections. The Wishfield Chronicles had you exploring what Miraland has to offer as well as helping you get your bearings in a new world.
The Limited Time Banners we’ve seen so far have been fun. Trying to complete the desired outfit(s) before the timer is up. While I’ve not gone for every outfit that falls under the Resonance Banner, I’ve gone for my favourite ones and ultimately hoped that I could complete the outfit in full in time. So far it’s been about fifty-fifty, but I’m happy with what I’ve managed to obtain so far.

Micro-Transactions
While you do not need to spend money in Infinity Nikki, there is an option to make purchases of additional content. I will admit, that I’ve spent just under £10 (GBP) on some Stellarites that allowed me to buy some of the new outfits in the shops while they were on sale and there was a launch promotion where you received double the amount. Other than that I’ve not spent anything.
I don’t feel as though I have to make additional purchases in the game. It is nice to have some of the extra outfits however and the freedom to use the premium currency when needed however I know it’s also not necessary to play or progress further.
Overall Thoughts on Infinity Nikki’s First Month of Release
What can I say about Infinity Nikki so far? How would I describe my experience with the game so far? These alongside many more questions I’m still figuring out the answers.
It has been nearly a month since the game was first released, one of my most anticipated games of this year. One that grabbed my attention from the moment I saw it during the PlayStation Showcase earlier in the year. At that moment, it set an expectation with me, a high one at that and still this game continues to exceed that.
I can only say positive things about Infinity Nikki. From the moment the game launched, the world was introduced to Nikki, Momo and the secrets of Miraland. It is still very early days for the game, but there’s still plenty of content to come based on what the team at Infold Games has shared with the community.
As for right now, I’m excited to be coming towards the end of the main story as I have questions related to it that need answering. Hopefully, they will be answered too. There’s also the new updated content that launches shortly that will be fun to explore both the new Interlude Chapter but the new events taking place. Even with these two aspects of the game, I have plenty left to keep me occupied and busy for the time being.
For a game that describes itself as the “cosiest open-world game” it’s not at all wrong. It’s been the perfect game to play over the last few weeks after long shifts at work during the Holiday period. One that doesn’t pressure you to progress but welcomes you in with a warm cosy hug and allows you to freely do what you want to do.

If you haven’t already jumped into the world of Miraland, there’s still plenty of time to do so. You can play right now, for free on PlayStation 5, and PC via Epic as well as via the Apple App Store and Play Store on Mobile Devices.
