Celestia: Chain of Fate, A Quick Opening Summary
Forbidden love or just a fairytale story?
You begin your journey in Celestia Chain of Fate as a young child listening to a bedtime story. In fact, you are your younger self, Aria. Suddenly, you are transported forward by fifteen years to the current day. This is where the story begins.
It’s a day of celebrations, marking a pivotal moment in Aria’s life. One that plays a bigger part than you initially think. The day of celebrations goes well, and during this time you get to meet and talk with your parents and siblings. Additionally, you’ll begin to meet some of the noble people of the Roseheart Kingdom during this prestigious evening.
As the evening comes to a close, you are met by a mysterious bunny-like character. They present you with a letter and several options. The letter, in question, was from the one and only Celstia Academy.
Everything that Aria knew up until this point was normal. As far as she knew, she was Aria Silverwings the daughter of the Duke and Duchess, however, all that could be about to change?
She discusses the new discoveries with her family, who inform her more about what has happened, her family and what to expect going forward. Discovering that she is in fact the daughter of a Daemon and Angelus. That her parents were not her real parents but adoptive. Fynn and Daimen, her brothers, are actually also adopted however, she had been aware of that for some time.

The emotions of the news surround Aria in ways she’s never felt before. Despite this, she knows what lies ahead for her and what she must do next. The choices she needs to make and a new magical adventure.
New adventures, new people to meet and, relationships to discover, Aria’s new outlook on life as she navigates this new era is surely to be one filled with excitement, nerves and plenty of memories.
First Impressions
Now, I had to stop writing the previous segment, as I didn’t want to spoil what happens next in the opening stages of the game. There is a lot to take in, but at no point do you as the player feel overwhelmed with what is happening. However, what I can tell you is that it had me pulled in, needing to know what happens next.
This is only the second visual novel game that I’ve played, with the previous being another PQube game, B-PROJECT RYUSEI*FANTASIA. Celestia Chains of Fate was actually a game that dropped into my inbox one evening and immediately grabbed my attention. Of course, I went straight to check out the trailer. Instantly I knew this was a game straight on my radar.
Fast-forward to playing the game, I had a bit of an idea of what the game and story were about. This is mainly from the previously announced information about the game and the trailers.
As the story unfolded, I found myself curious to find answers to the many questions I had. Going from the normal human world and transporting it to a whole new magical world was great! The mystery surrounding Aria’s journey was one thing that had my attention, but I also wanted to see how she developed various relationships with other characters, too. Of course, my choices in the game would also have an effect on how parts of the story would play out.

There’s one particular icy character, who I’ve met and I’m curious to see how their friendship develops, but I also am well aware that there are other romanceable characters and friends still to meet as I continue to progress through the game.
I can’t forget these next two bits however, the soundtrack is beautiful and helps the story so much. As for, the graphics of the game, they are just gorgeous. The colours, the details, everything is wonderful and really brings Aria’s story to life!
Controls for the game are easy and straightforward. The team even included a quick save option by simply hitting the left bumper on the Nintendo Switch, allowing you to save at any point. Incredibly handy for those moments when you can’t wait for a save point.
As for settings as a whole, for my set-up of the game, they were spot on. The only thing I changed was the speed at which the text appeared on the screen. Other than that, everything was perfect.

Overall, my journey with Celestia: Chain of Fates so far has been excellent. The story has me gripped, and I’m curious to see how it plays out. I have questions that I’m sure will be answered as I continue to progress through Aria’s story and her time at Celestia Academy. I also know there’s so much to this visual novel to discover, and I can’t wait to see what there is.
It will be interesting to see which of the romantic interests I decide to go with. What kind of friendships lay along the way and how they play a part in Aria’s journey. I guess it will really depend on the choices I make for Aria as I go through each chapter. As well, I’m curious to discover what side of the magic Aria will settle for, if she decides to do so at all. I guess I’ll have to keep playing to find out!
For this being my second dive into the world of visual novel games, I can definitely say I’m really enjoying my time with the genre and look forward to discovering more in the future.
I truly have so much more I want to say, however, I don’t want to spoil too much of the story. However, keep your eyes peeled on my social media for more screenshots and my thoughts on the game as I continue my journey with Aria!
