May has been a very peculiar month. While I haven’t been playing as many newer games, I’ve stuck to some old favourites. I’ve also been checking out lots of cool demos! Not only that, I’ve been spending more time working on content creation as a whole. Setting goals, planning future posts, and documenting ideas of topics I’d love to cover one day. Essentially just a lot of behind-the-scenes work and some of that hard work is starting to show!
Anyway, here are some of the games I’ve checked out in May!
Video Games
Short but sweet for this month, but also lots of exciting things on the way from a few games that I’m keeping under wraps for the time being!
Paper Trail
Paper Trail is an absolutely stunning game that I’ve recently been playing through. A mixture of adventure and puzzles, it has been a refreshing game to play through. However, don’t let that comment fool you, as there are plenty of relatable moments within the game as you follow Paige’s journey!
You can read more about my thoughts on Newfangled Game’s Paper Trail here.
Fortnite
This again has been a mixture of Battle Royale and LEGO Fortnite. I’ve spent a lot of time building up my village and resources in LEGO Fortnite lately. Just going with the flow and exploring the world around my base. There have been moments where I’ve been too adventurous, but at the end of the day, that’s all part of the fun.
As for the Battle Royale side of Fortnite, I’ve been making steady progress through the new battle pass that also features content from the Fallout franchise!
Ultimately, that’s about all I’ve been playing this past month. As I mentioned, I’ve been exploring a lot of demos for upcoming games, some of which may be making an appearance in posts soon. Naturally, I don’t want to ruin any surprises just yet.
Music
April was very much a month of being a Swiftie, however, May has been overrun with a much heavier vibe!
Post Human NeX GEn: Bring Me The Horizon
The band dropped their latest album with less than twenty-four hours notice, and my god, there was so much chaos when this news was revealed. The album has been on repeat since its release and is just what I hoped for and more from the band. Here’s to hoping for a new UK tour to see some of the new songs performed live!
I’ve linked the trailer for the new album below, can you spot all of the gaming references in the video?
RATATATA: BABYMETAL x Electric Callboy
The collaboration that many of us didn’t know we needed! Infused with what both groups do best, it’s catchy and will certainly get stuck in your head!
A Nostalgia Moment
Finally, You Me At Six.
The group is embarking on their farewell tour dates across the world with the UK tour taking place early next year. In fact, at the time of writing this, the tour is fully sold out, with the band looking at the possibility of adding in even more dates before they say goodbye. I won’t lie, getting tickets for this tour was crazy, but persistence and fighting Ticketmaster (if you know you know) eventually paid off!
However, I’ve been taking a trip down memory lane and listening to some of my favourite tracks from the band, both new and old!
Rounding Up
I guess you could say this has been more of a music month than gaming judging by how many songs, I’ve featured in this month’s The Playlist!
Additionally, the LEGO collection has grown a tiny bit more this past month. Need to build up those LEGO points ahead of hopefully purchasing the recently revealed Legend of Zelda set that comes out later this year!
How was May for you? Did you start any new games? Maybe some upcoming releases for June have your attention? Let me know in the comments below!
