The Playlist: April 2024

For once, I managed to plan my time well and got ahead with my monthly round-up. I’ve always aimed to get these kinds of posts ready for the end of the month, however, they always seemed to drift into the first few days of the next month.

All in all, April has been an interesting month. I made some big choices at the end of March, and now I’m slowly adjusting to them. For the most part, as much as it still feels weird, I think it’s going very well.

I’ve really been thinking about my own content and this tiny corner of the internet. How I want to shape it and grow it. The targets I want to work towards, as well as some more long-term goals. Yes, I even have the possibility of starting streaming on Twitch or even creating YouTube content in the future on the list. That is just a little way off for now.

An Exciting Announcement

The past month was definitely full of surprises, one of which I’m incredibly excited for. I have joined forces with the wonderful The Pillow Fort as one of their Pillow Fort Approved Creators!

I’m looking forward to seeing what lies ahead for myself and the other Pillow Fort Approved Creators in the future!

You can find out more about The Pillow Fort on their website and on their social media accounts.

Video Games

Now let’s talk video games!

I’ll be honest, I’ve grown my backlog a lot over this past month. I’ve added several new games to my Switch collection. These vary from new releases to some sale pick-ups and mainly are Nintendo Switch games. There have been a few other games as well, but I can certainly say it’s been much more of a cosy and chill gaming vibe this past month!

Moonglow Bay

I’ve been so excited about this game to sail onto Nintendo Switch for what has felt like an eternity and finally, it is here! Now, this was going to be a day-one start since I had pre-ordered the game but I’ve held off until I’ve finished off another couple of games on my Switch. I’m happy to report that this is nearly done so I’m aiming to start Moonglow Bay in the next week or so.

Switch Sale Selection

I mentioned I had picked up a few other games on Nintendo Switch this month as well. In fact, all of these have been very reasonable prices, too. It’s been a nice way to build up my collection a little bit more with some more fun and cosy games.

  • Good Pizza, Great Pizza
  • Fit My Cat
  • Two Point Hospital: JUMBO Edition
  • Sticky Business Bundle (New Release Promotion)
  • Tell Me Your Story (New Release Promotion)

Spirit City: LoFi Sessions

Funnily enough, I have Spirit City: LoFi Sessions running in the background as I’m writing this. Though essentially this is more of a focus work tool than a game, it still has aspects where you gain experience as well as customise your character and environment.

However, it’s so much more than that. You can also make a truly cosy and relaxing atmosphere by tailoring the LoFi experience from piano tracks to rain, the warm and toasty fireplace, night forest, keyboard typing and more.

I’ve found this really helpful and beneficial playing when I really need to sit down and get stuff done! A very useful game to have in your collection and worth checking out on Steam!

More Games Krista?

Yes, there’s been one or two more games that have been in my rotation this month as well. The Sims 4 has made its return, which I spoke about here, as well as Final Fantasy XIV Online. The latter was mainly so I could take part in the FFXIV x FFXVI crossover event, which I completed and honestly loved.

Music

This album needs no introduction or explanation. Standing strong at thirty-one tracks long, Taylor Swift’s eleventh album The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology has been on repeat pretty much since its release.

The whole album truly is a rollercoaster ride. It’s relatable on so many different levels, as well as emotional. I won’t go into too much detail right now but if you haven’t listened to it yet, you won’t be disappointed.

Rounding Up

I’ve started the Fallout series on Prime TV, and I’m about to start episode five next. I know, I know, I’m a bit behind on this one but either way, I’m really enjoying it. It’s really making me want to return to either Fallout 4 or Fallout 76 again at some point.

As always, a few LEGO Brickheadz and a LEGO Stitch have joined the collection this month, but have you seen the upcoming Animal Crossing sets that are coming in August?

How was April for you? Did you start any new games? Maybe there are some upcoming releases for May that have your attention? Let me know in the comments below!

    1. I think I would have to agree and say, “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” too. There is also “The Prophecy” from the TTPD Anthology that is another favourite.
