Indie World Showcase Thoughts (April 2024)

Indie World, Nintendo

Let’s talk Indie Games!

The most recent Nintendo Indie World Showcase shone the light on a variety of exciting new games coming to the Switch platform in the near future.

At just over twenty minutes long, there was plenty to check out in the live-stream spotlight. While I didn’t watch it live, I was intrigued to see what was revealed during the stream when I was able to catch up. In total, there were just shy of twenty games revealed and also a few same-day releases.

With so many games to go through, I wanted to share my thoughts on a few games that stood out to me from the livestream.

Sticky Business

This relaxing yet creative game from the Spellgarden Games Team will get you going sticker crazy! Listen to the stories from your potential customers, create stickers, pack the orders and ship them out! What more could you want?

I’ve been eyeing this game up on Steam for some time but seeing as it was a surprise release after the Indie World Spotlight yesterday, it’s going to be my next purchase on the Nintendo Switch.

Duck Detective: The Secret Salami

Why is the salami so secretive?

I guess the only way to find out will be to play through this mystery as the Duck Detective to find out!

Little Kitty, Big City

This game! It has felt like forever since I first saw a reveal trailer for this game, and now it’s just weeks away!

Explore the city with this small, adorable kitty. Cause chaos, have fun it’s just going to be such a fun game to play when Little Kitty, Big City is released next month!

Europa

Europa is a game I’m intrigued to find out more about. The idea behind the game is great, and I love how there is a mixture of exploring and puzzle-solving in the game. Definitely another staying on my radar!

Another notable mention, and a game I’ve actually played around with on my phone, is Stitch. I’m still quite early on in the game, but it’s been nice and chill to play and pass the time with while on the go. This is likely to be another purchase on Nintendo Switch.

Overall, this Nintendo Indie World for me was pretty good. Naturally, there were games I gravitated more towards than others, but for the most part, I’ll be doing my best to check them all out over time.

What did you think of this recent Indie World Spotlight? Were there any games that stood out to you that you can’t wait to check out? Let me know!
