The Playlist: March 2024

I’ve really been enjoying writing The Playlists posts so far. I believe this is the third one that I’ve done now. It’s always nice to be able to sit down and recap on things that have happened in the previous month.

March truly flew by so fast and as I’m sitting here writing this, I’m almost struggling to remember what I got up to. Overall it was a busy and challenging month, but it was also filled with lots of fun moments!

Video Games

There have been two games that have really had my attention for the past month, and that is Palia and Princess Peach: Showtime! I’ve found myself hopping around various games and not really making any progress at all other than in the two previously mentioned. I also have several more games on my radar for the month ahead, however, that is a story for another day!

Palia

Palia is a cosy life simulation game mixed with an element of being a massively multiplayer online too. Even though the game is still in early access, it is also free to play and is cross-platform between Nintendo Switch and PC.

I’ve been slowly making my way through the quests and building up my resources. My house, at least the initial version. It is merely one big room for now with a few bits of furniture in it.

Additionally, I enjoyed scaling to the top of the giant Frogbert and finding a cute little surprise awaiting for me.

This game has been wonderful to sit and chill with after a long day and get lost in it for a few hours. The ease of switching between platforms depending on my mood has been wonderful, too.

Princess Peach: Showtime!

On the other hand, Princess Peach Showtime on Nintendo Switch has been a nice alternative. I’ve been having so much fun playing through each of the different levels, as each Princess Peach variant and just enjoying the game so much.

While the game is easier in places than I thought, that hasn’t put me off. It’s been another game that has been great to cosy up on the sofa with and just progress through each of the levels. Needless to say, I’m quite near the end now so not too long left until I complete the game!

Other games that I have been hopping around this past month have been Fortnite, Stardew Valley (on console), Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and that’s about it. Fortnite has been a little hit and miss for me this time around, and I just can’t seem to get into the new season in the Battle Royale mode for some reason. However, LEGO Fortnite is still another go-to for me.

Stardew Valley, on the other hand, I started playing on Nintendo Switch again but decided I wanted to play the new update for the game and even dabble in the world of game mods for the game too.

Lastly, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has been a game that I’m making slow progress through as I’m actually enjoying it so much. I’m doing my best to explore each and every area as much as I can before I progress to the next part. Either way, I’m more than likely going to replay the game again once I’ve completed it.

Music

Another month and more new and exciting music was released. As usual, my playlist has been all over the place but here are three songs I’ve been loving this past month!

LEAVE IT ALL BEHIND is a collaboration between F.HERO, BODYSLAM and BABYMETAL. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this song initially, but instantly upon release was hooked. The collaboration works perfectly and mixes a blend of all three participants’ features wonderfully!

Next up is a song that has been stuck in my head for the past few days and that is Magnetic by Illit. I had no idea this was the group’s debut song but it’s catchy and has been on repeat ever since.

My third and final song well, artist I should say for March is Taylor Swift. I sat and re-watched the Era’s Tour when it was released on Disney+ and am slowly waiting for The Tortured Poets Department album to be released in just under two weeks.

There are also a number of reasons why her music has been on repeat lately for me.Ultimately, Taylor just has a way with words in her songs that explain exactly how you’re thinking or feeling about a particular thing going on in life. It just hits right, really.

Everything Else

Truthfully, I haven’t done a lot else in March. The LEGO collection is still sitting waiting to be worked through, yet still growing and as for reading, well that hasn’t gone well either. For April, I’m hoping to get well and truly back on track, especially with having some time off from work to rest and reset.

There’s lot of games to catch up on, and the new Fallout TV show is out in just a few days, hopefully catch up and watch the latest Dune movie at the cinema and so much more!

What was the month of March like for you?
