The Playlist: February 2024

So, I’m a few days late with getting this post written up, but it’s truly been a hectic start to the new month. Compared to January, February feels like it has flown by. Even the previous month was just busy, it was more day-to-day busy than anything else.

It did make it challenging at times to find time to enjoy gaming and such but I feel I still had a pretty good month overall.

Video Games

As I mentioned in my January post, I was playing a lot of Fortnite. This has still been true for the past month as I’ve been having great fun progressing through the battle pass ahead of Chapter 5 Season 2 dropping on 8th March 2024. LEGO Fortnite has been another favourite this month as well!

Fortnite Festival is another aspect of the game I explored and while I’m terrible at it, it’s been great fun rocking out and putting on my own little concert.

Next up, and sadly still not gotten into it just yet is Bandle Tale! This is a game I’ve been really excited to check out especially since it links into the League of Legends universe! I can’t wait to jump into a new cosy game and discover what it takes to mark a Yordle!

Splatoon 3 on the other hand has been another favourite this past month. I played a lot of Splatoon 2 back when I first got my Nintendo Switch. With all the hype around the Side Order part of the expansion pass, it made me want to get back into the game again. I’ve mainly been focusing on normal team battles at the moment while I get the hang of things again and I plan on picking up the downloadable content soon!

Lastly, and probably not surprising, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. While this only came out on 29th February 2024, I’ve really been enjoying it so far. Taking my time and exploring each different aspect of the game as I can. I would love to share more about the game but I also don’t want to spoil it for anyone reading just yet.

Music

My playlist for February has been much the same as January, with a few new additions.

The first new addition to the playlist is LE SSERAFIM’s new mini-album, EASY. I wasn’t completely sold on the album the first few times I listened to it but the tracks EASY and Smarter have been stuck in my head constantly.

Next up and in honour of the tenth anniversary of their debut self-titled album is BABYMETAL. To celebrate they released a special clip from their BABYMETAL BEGINS – THE OTHER ONE Clear Night tour.

This was one of the first times they performed the song properly with MOMOMETAL being an official member of the group rather than an Avenger (dancer) for the group!

I was lucky to see them last year on their EU and UK tour in London, and it was such an amazing night! This was the third time I’d seen the group live and each time they really do put on a hell of a show.

The final song in my playlist that’s been on repeat is TWICE’s One Spark. It’s catchy, gets stuck in your head and I can’t stop dancing along to it when it comes on.

Books

No real change when it comes to reading. I’m still reading through  Welcome to the Hyunam-dong Bookshop by Hwang Bo-reum and still really enjoying it. I’m so close to the end of it now too! I picked up Greek Lessons by Han Kang too which I’m excited to get started with soon too.

LEGO and More

I haven’t done much at all in the way of journaling this month as I’m still experimenting and playing around with ideas. However, on the LEGO front, my Animal Crossing sets arrived this past weekend! I’m finishing off my current part-done sets first, and then I’ll be straight into the Animal Crossing sets soon after that!

Having the actual physical sets here (other than Maple’s polybag gift with purchase that is on its way) I’m considering jumping back onto my island once again. I’ve also loved seeing how excited the Animal Crossing community has been the past few days. Whether it’s been because of Animal Crossing New Horizons, New Leaf from the 3DS or the LEGO collection, you will probably find me living out my Island life once again!

What was February like for you? Let me know!

  1. The Animal Crossing LEGO looks so cool! Thinking that would be a good gift for some of my friends if I have enough Bells, haha… !

Though seeing Tom Nook on the box unnerves me. With the price of LEGOs, I bet he would love them XD
