We are continuing on our hidden object game journey with the wonderful game Nippets.

Releasing later today, Nippets is a gorgeous hand drawn hidden object game which allows you to explore a number of stunningly handcrafted two-dimensional maps. Each map will have a host of lost items that need finding as well as tiny little puzzles. As you continue to explore the Nippets worlds, you can poke, peek, and prod at the objects found within the living world. Trees can shake to reveal hidden surprises, surprise the birds on the lamppost, and honk the horn on the garbage lorry. Every element of the game is designed to be reactive and responsive.

There are several places in each map to explore and discover the various hidden objects and fun surprises. Every single solution to a puzzle tells a story, with some continuing on through the game.

Time to get Clicking!

First up, the starting screen for the game once you’ve entered your profile name has to be one of my favourites. It’s almost like a mini tutorial away from the tutorial where you can play with some of the game’s mechanics and, of course, pet the cat!

After a quick tutorial, you’re into the game. Clicking around. Poking, shaking and just looking for any of the objects listed at the bottom of the screen to help you complete each of the seasons.

It’s incredibly important to note that sometimes there is more to each area than meets the eye. Leaving and returning as many times as needed is fine, especially since you might miss something you hadn’t seen earlier.

As you make your way through each of the levels, you’ll be able to track your progress as to how close you are to reuniting the objects with their intended owners. Once you fully complete finding all of one object, the progress circle will be all yellow, upon returning, it will turn green with a little tick.

What I also like is that each object has little clues, which help you locate some of them and tell the stories that run throughout the game. This feature proves particularly useful for locating some of the smaller and more challenging objects.

Overall, my time with Nippets has been great fun and was the perfect way to unwind after a busy few days at work. With no time restraints and no pressure to run through levels, it was nice to go at my own speed. I found myself going over areas time and time again, discovering more hidden surprises that I initially missed. Sometimes I’d find an object and reunite it just to then discover another surprise waiting for me.

The storylines throughout the game are lovely and relatable, adding another level of depth. It’s nice to see how these objects play a bigger part than just being an everyday object to the in game characters. The art style is wonderful, and I feel it really fits this style of game along with the game’s soundtrack.

Also, did you know you can pet the dogs and cats?

Nippets is truly an adorable and cosy hidden object game. One full of surprises and is perfect to unwind with. So if you are looking for a game that’s a little shorter but still can be played time and time again? Then this might just be the game for you!

You can check out Nippets on Steam right now with its demo ahead of the full launch on 7th April 2026!
