There’s nothing more exciting than trying to squeeze in a month’s worth of game content into a few days! That’s what I have done (again) in Infinity Nikki. I missed a lot of the Version 2.2 content due to life and other commitments but covered the main parts of that season, although that was really the bare minimum.
Between the end of version 2.2 and now, I’ve not really been keeping up to date with the game as much, and currently there is a whole season of content to catch up with. I’m not too worried about fully catching up with the time left, as I’m more excited for the upcoming version 2.4 content that launches later this week.

Catching Up with the Current Season
Infinity Nikki Version 2.3 was focused around celebrating Chinese New Year and the new permanent quest Uncrowned Heart. It was another bright and colourful update that saw a wave of new content, optimisations and hot fixes. This update came with some stunning outfits, which you could exchange for Revelation Crystals, including The Fifth Flavour, Dreamtime Bestowed, Night Capricorn Song and Rewound Daydream.
With just a few days left to go, I quickly looked at which of the limited time outfits I would be able to work towards completing with the time and currencies I had left. I focused mainly on Night Capricorn Song and Rewound Daydream. Both being four-star outfits but with pull rates more realistic for the 8,000 diamonds I had in my pocket. Now, I managed to fully complete both of these with diamonds to spare, mainly thanks to one very lucky pull where I received four items in one go!

With that out of the way, I made my way through the start of the exclusive new quest. At the time of writing this, I’m about half of the way through it, I feel. It was a nice surprise to be reintroduced to a character from the early part of the game too. It was certainly interesting now, suddenly being transported to another part of the Infinity Nikki universe during this quest. It’s a story full of surprises and darkness but still factors in that normal Infinity Nikki charm.
Now, I did get distracted and wander off to do a few other bits, take some screenshots and just almost refamiliarise myself with the game once again. I haven’t properly played Infinity Nikki for a while, so I’d forgotten some aspects of the game, and some features had received updates too.

After a few hours of on and off game time, I was pretty much back up to speed and at a point where I’d covered enough of the current version 2.3 content that if I didn’t get another chance to play before the next update, I was okay.
Speaking of updates, there appears to be a lot heading our way in the version 2.4 update later this week!
The Forest Need Not Listen Update
As mentioned, the version 2.4 update is entitled The Forest Need Not Listen. At first, this sounds mysterious and a little suspicious but appears to focus on a new quest that is called ‘Momo, Grow Stronger!’ That’s not to mention a wave of new fun and exciting quests and events coming alongside the previously stated quests. I’m certainly curious to see how each of the new quests interlocks with the main story of the game so far but also just to play through them in a much more timely manner.
However, can we just take a moment to appreciate and look at how cool the new main resonance outfit is?
After watching the trailer for ‘She Is Wildfire’, I was not expecting the outfit, which I think we can say is somewhat inspired by Little Red Riding Hood, to be as dark and almost rock music inspired as I first thought it would be. I feel it’s one outfit I’ll certainly be working towards unlocking sooner rather than later, but this also depends on what other outfits are revealed.
I also like that when wearing this outfit, while its main attribute is cool, it comes with a hunting elegy/battle companion in the form of a phantom moon-hunting wolf. It will be interesting to see how it works exactly in game, provided I manage to unlock it in time!
General Infinity Nikki Musings
In general, I’m still really enjoying my time with Infinity Nikki. While I’m pretty much up to date with most of the game, I still have so much to dive into and explore in more detail. There are aspects of the game I haven’t given much attention to over the last few months, such as the Heart of Infinity and its various shards and sub-shards. I’ve not really done much with building my own home and that side of the game and the features that come with that other than the absolute basics.
Part of me doesn’t want to rush everything so that I still have stuff I can chip away at long term however, at the same time, I don’t want to be in a place in my own game where I’m overwhelmed with things I need to do in game. Right now, I think I’ve just about got the right balance.
Either way, I’m very much looking forward to seeing what else is still to come in this upcoming Version 2.4 update as well as the other limited outfits and the new Snail Salon feature that’s also being teased.
