Curiosmos: Build Your Own Solar System Adventure

Author’s Note: A Game Key for the Curiosmos Demo was kindly provided by Future Friends

Browsing through my emails this morning, I found a very fun and cute looking game orbiting in my inbox from the lovely team over at Future Friends. Until now, I hadn’t heard about Curiosmos but looking through the information and the Steam Page, it sounded right up my solar system so let’s check it out!

Meet Curiosmos!

In Curiosmos, you’ll see outer space and see that it’s cuter than you ever imagined. You’ll find yourself soaring into this whimsical cosmic sandbox game where you build and create a solar system from the ground up!

As you play, you’ll collide stardust and asteroids together to make brand-new planets. When your planet is large enough, you can zoom in and even begin to play around with the planet’s surface. Make changes by shaping the land as well as the weather and see what happens! Don’t worry, your planets will be curiously looking on as you figure out how to add the likes of mountains and volcanoes to your planet’s surface as well as tinkering with the clouds, rain, thunder and even brining a little bit of life to your planet.

The more you play, the more you’ll see your solar system come to life with more planets and moons, and you can venture out to the asteroid belt to explore. You are the one in charge of creating a fun and friendly neighbourhood for your Sun!

However, a mere few light-years away, a dastardly black hole has other plans. Specifically wanting to devour your Sun and possibly everything else with it. Fear not because a small and slightly lost satellite, may just be the very answer to helping save your solar system from the evils of space.

Curious? Why not explore the trailer and discover not only secrets but the beauty of outer space too!

The Beauty of Curiosmos

If you are in search of an upcoming relaxing, adorable and cosy game, then Curiosmos might just be what you are looking for! Curiosmos, is perfect for those who love games where creativity helps drive your game but is also relaxing and has no pressure so you can really go at your own pace.

At first, I was a bit confused as to how the game’s demo worked when it came to control. However, thinking back to playing games like Asteroids and similar, soon I was using the mouse to launch various objects through space and grew what would become my very first planet. It didn’t feel as though needing to figure out how to play hindered my experience, it actually helped with the theme of exploring space and life.

Okay, so now I have a planet, what next?

If I’m totally honest, I just started clicking around the screen and the edge of the planet, slowly shaping the land, adding water and lava streams along the way.

The game does guide you and have you explore various asteroid belts in search for resources to help you continue to grow your planet, and it’s quite fun to do so. It’s just endless areas of space to explore with Curio, the little satellite who also helps you on your voyage.

As far as the demo goes, it does a wonderful job of introducing you to Curiosmos, the features and what you can expect. It’s relaxing, and you can explore the demo at your own speed. There’s no right or wrong way in the order of doing things. The game will prompt you as well if there is something you need to do or create, but there’s no time restraints.

I did lose track of time as I was just having too much time playing around and launching asteroids across my screen and crafting the land on my planet, even if it did get a little angry at me at times.

Curiosmos is a game certainly going on my wishlist and sitting on my radar ready for when it launches into the gaming galaxy in the future!

If you want to get hands on with the game’s demo yourself, you’ll have to wait just a few more days until Wednesday 16th July 2025! Be sure to wishlist and follow the game on Steam now!
