Let me introduce you to Nanomon. The tiny, byte-sized virtual pets that tuck themselves into the corner of your computer screen!

Cute, cosy and adorable, you’ll find yourself looking after your little corner critter. Feed them, care for them and play with them, and watch them grow and evolve into their next form. There are plenty of places for you and your Nanomon to explore and gain experience from, as well as plenty of fun games and foes to take on, all from the corner of your screen.

My Tiny Byte-Sized Adventure So Far

Although I’ve only had Nanomon playing on my PC for a few small hours so far, I have been pleasantly surprised by the game so far.

You can tailor the game to suit you. Be it that it just sits in the corner of your screen doing its own thing, have it moving about the screen and, you can even set it to a do not disturb mode amongst other set-ups. Don’t worry you can also enlarge the game if you want a bigger picture by simply right-clicking on the screen!

It’s not intrusive at all. I did tweak some sound settings initially to suit myself better, but this is all easily customizable via the game’s settings menu.

The best way to describe Nanomon is as though it’s your own desktop Tamagotchi and that you can take it on adventures too. While these adventures took my little friend on some exploratory missions, I did run into a foe or two and probably a boss along the way. Despite that, these enemies were no match for my little on-screen friend, who happily dominated each and every battle.

While I still have plenty of the Nanoscape to explore, I’m certainly enjoying having some company on-screen with my Nanomon as I work away. I know there’s still plenty to discover about the game overall, and I think I’m close to an evolution. I guess only time will tell just how many cute pixel creatures I’ll find on my own desktop journey!

Nanomon Virtual Pet is out right now on Steam!
