Did somebody say content for Elder Sims?
Well, it looks like EA and The Sims Team have finally given us a Kit specifically tailored towards our Elder Sims fashion! This has come in the form of The Sims 4 Golden Years Kit!
I’ve always felt as though Elder Sims do from time to time get forgotten about, however, this Kit is a welcomed addition to the game for me.

Designed for our Elder Sims
This new Kit in a way has been designed to help you tell stories with your Elder Sims. With clothing pieces designed specifically for older Sims as well as essential and convenient accessories such as glasses on a chain, gardening gloves, bonnet and a toupee.
A Golden Lifestyle
Just because your Sim is an Elder doesn’t mean they can’t be fashionable and express their individuality. Whether you are creating a look for when out in the garden, working out or just looking an everyday comfortable look, The Sims 4 Golden Years Kit has those options!
Create A Sim Preview
This new Kit features twenty-seven now clothing and accessory options for your Elder Sims! From cosy jumpers and full body outfits to the perfect gardening outfits that would even give Agnes Crumplebottom a run for her money!

There certainly is a good selection with this Kit, however, I wanted to have a closer look at some of the new additions in game with my own Sims!
What Do I Think?
It didn’t take too long to create a few new looks for my current Elder Sims. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this Kit overall and while they have only recently released, I have waited a little while before actually grabbing this and the other two new Kits for my game.
I feel there is a good mixture of options for both male and female Elder Sims. Colour options are good, with a variety of more neutral colours alongside some colourful options, but not too colourful options. Certainly a good variety for the most part.
With twenty-seven options to choose from, there are certainly plenty of looks that you can make using The Sims 4 Golden Years Kit on its own but also alongside other packs such as The Sims 4 Cottage Living.

When you look at the finer details, you’ll see that a lot of thought has been put into this Kit. Especially with accessories such as the alert button, toupee and the varying glasses styles. There are some great patterns, those of which fit well with the Elder Sim fashion overall. However, there are a couple of small, but not major things with a few new items that don’t seem quite right.
As I was trying out various combinations of outfits for my Sims, I did notice that some of the accessories, most notably the alert button, didn’t show up correctly and essentially would glitch on older clothing options. Whether this was a small oversight or not, I don’t know, but hopefully will be able to be fixed in an upcoming update.
On another piece of clothing, the Male Sims’ where you have the fishing jacket, the glasses don’t look real at all but just painted on. At first glance you don’t necessarily notice it, but when you look again, or switch the colour swatches, you can see it slightly more clearly. Again, hopefully this is something that could be revisited and fixed in the future.

Future Elder Sims Content?
For the most part, The Sims 4 Golden Years Kit is a welcomed addition to the Kit’s family. I do feel there could have been more but as this is just a The Sims 4 Kit, twenty-seven new additions were just right.
As for the future of content for Elder Sims in The Sims 4, personally, I would love to see more when it comes to gameplay for them in future packs and updates. We have some content for them in the game already, but I do feel there is so much more that could be incorporated that would benefit our older Sims. I guess we will have to wait and see what The Sims Team have planned for players going forward!
What are your thoughts on this latest Kit and just Elder Sims content in general? Why not, let me know below? However, The Sims 4 Golden Years Kit is out right now on PC, Xbox and PlayStation Platforms!
