With the holiday season now fully underway, it can sometimes be challenging to know what to gift others. One thing I’ve found hard myself over the years is knowing more about what my video game-loving friends and family would like. Other than keeping it simple with a gift card for their chosen platform or store (which isn’t a bad option at all either) there are still plenty of awesome options out there!
Today, I wanted to share five ideas that may be useful for those looking for some gaming-related inspiration during this time of year.
1. Wearable Merch
T-shirts, pyjamas, socks, underwater, there are plenty of options out there for gaming and geeky wearables. One of my favourite places to check out certainly for gaming-inspired clothing is Insert Coin. Spanning various options from t-shirts, hoodies, and socks for a wide variety of games, it is certainly one place to check out!

2. Console & Tech Accessories
When it comes to console accessories, there are so many different options. You can go down the route of cases, thumb grips and additional controllers or a more practical route of charging leads, additional storage options through hard drives and so much more!
PowerA and Hori have some great options as well as Geekshare when it comes to character-themed and more general-themed accessories.
If however, you’re looking more for accessories for the likes of phones or tablets, things like cases are always a good place to start and are a fun way to customize a device!
3. Homewares
There are so many options for this one. Be it wall art, figurines, kitchenwares, blankets, toasters, camping equipment, pet beds, you name it you will probably find it. There is so much out there that you can add small hints of gaming-themed goodness to your home and, even larger-scale items too!
A lot of these can be purchased from the games storefronts directly but also more commonly in local stores and online too. There’s such a vast variety of items out there to give any space a slight hint of gaming goodness!
4. Books & Comics
For a change of pace, why not let your favourite people get cosy with a good book or comic. There are a number of accompanying books for many games now but many are inspired by some of the most loved game and movie franchises out there. From novels to guides to encyclopedias to cookbooks and even re-tellings through different formats, there is a whole other realm out there waiting to be explored!
5. Gift Cards
Gift cards are actually a really good idea, especially if you are looking for a quick stocking filler or even as a last-minute gift.
Be it a gift card for their chosen platform or one that they can put towards something of their choice, this opens up a number of possibilities for both the gift giver and the person it is intended for.
By no means is this an in-depth list of ideas for gaming and geek-inspired ideas for this Holiday Season. There are thousands upon thousands of options out there and that’s even before exploring the route of custom-made or handmade gifts too! There are also a number of things I’ve not even touched upon such as Funko Pops, LEGO, board games, trading cards and more!
