With the nature of my work, the next few weeks tend to be incredibly hectic and non-stop. That means I usually spend some time during November reorganizing spaces and just having a good old sort out. Having been on some paid time off recently, I did just that. One of my main focuses was showing some love to the spare room.
I say spare room, it’s more of a space where you can just unwind and chill out. Be it watching television, reading or gaming. It is what it is though and during this time I had a glance through the physical games in my collection. Now this collection has a good variety of games split between my partner and me. There are even a few duplicated games from where we’ve both picked games up without checking if the other already owned a copy. Anyway, that’s not the point and those extra games are soon to be traded in.
As I was going through the games and sorting them out, I came across some forgotten games that we owned. I say forgotten, more like games we’ve owned and partially played and never gone back to. Either way, here are some of the games I picked out that I am interested in playing again.
Tokyo Mirage #FE Encore
I picked this game up so long ago that I forgot it was in my collection. If I’m honest, I thought I had traded it in long ago. I can’t remember much as to why I picked this up other than it was on sale and looked interesting. Not knowing anything about the game at all I went in blindly and from what I played, I really enjoyed it. The only reason I stopped playing I think was because I started playing another game. This is certainly at the top of my list to revisit!
Pokken Tournament DX
This was one of the first games I bought after getting my first Nintendo Switch. I just thought it’s another Pokémon game, let’s grab it. Not knowing much about I decided to jump in and explore. That was very short-lived, and the game has resided on my shelf ever since.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits
This next game is one that when it launched I was incredibly excited about. I was gifted a physical copy for Christmas, but I never got around to playing it at the time due to life events. I’ve been meaning to jump in and finally explore the game and every time I just haven’t. This is actually, out of all the games mentioned in this post, the one I will start with especially since I’ve heard a lot of good things about the game.
Death Stranding
Now, I did play around twenty hours of Death Stranding before calling it quits. It was one of those typical “got stuck at a point in the game, I’ll come back to it later” moments. Except, I never did come back to it. While I did enjoy playing Death Stranding, it certainly had its fair share of moments that made me jump too. With the game having recently launched on Xbox, it may be time to give it a proper play-through.
I’m sure to a degree this can be relatable to many people. Whether it’s a physical or digital game, I’m sure we’ve all got a game or two that we’d love to go back and rediscover at some point. I think I may have even more if I included looking at my digital library, but we’ll save that for another day. For now, I think I’ll look at starting to work these games into my rotation.
Do you have any games in your collection that have been forgotten about or are long overdue a new play-through?
