Unveiling the Magic: Infinity Nikki Exclusive Preview Insights | AD

Infinity Nikki is the upcoming cosy open-world game from Infold Games. In fact, this is the fifth game in the Nikki series. The game is filled with a variety of exciting gameplay features that allow players to create their own unique and captivating experiences. These features include platforming, puzzle-solving and dress-up to name a few.

In Infinity Nikki, Nikki and Momo are about to begin a brand-new adventure in the mystical nations of Miraland. With every location showcasing its own unique charm, culture and environment. Along the player’s journey, you’ll be able to explore beautiful locations, meet whimsical creatures, collect breathtaking outfits in varying styles and discover the magical secrets of some of these outfits. They may play an important part in your journey!

A Quick Introduction

For those of you who have been following new and upcoming game releases closely this year, you’ll know that Infinity Nikki is highly anticipated and has a lot of buzz around it. So you can imagine my surprise when I was invited to an exclusive preview of the game ahead of the upcoming public closed beta. This has been an opportunity I’ve been incredibly grateful for, and it’s been an absolute pleasure taking part in.

There’s no denying my excitement, especially since this is also one of the games I’ve been keeping track of since I first discovered news of the game earlier this year. This is honestly one game I’m really looking forward to releasing.

Before I jump into sharing my experience of Infinity Nikki during the preview event, it’s important to note a couple of things. This is still an early version of the game, and some features/gameplay that I experienced in the game during this time may not be present or may differ in the final version of the game. Additionally, I was running this test build on a computer that is at the lower end of the specifications advised for the game, I’ll touch more on this later on in this post.

Welcome to Miraland: Opening Moments & Tutorial

Upon my arrival in Infinity Nikki for the first time, I was greeted with an opening cutscene. Set in the attic of Nikki’s childhood home, Nikki along with Momo are exploring the attic, a place that was off limits as a child. While exploring, they come across numerous special dresses. Each of the dresses was gorgeous and stunning. All of a sudden, a portal begins to open and Nikki is captured by one particular dress. Swirling around the attic but edging closer to the portal. Eventually, Nikki and Momo fall through the portal and end up in a mysterious realm.

A strange and unusual voice describes the outfit that Nikki is now wearing as the Miracle Dress. With that being said, it was time to explore the opening moments of my time in Miraland.

You begin with a tutorial of sorts, giving you the basics of moving around the game. Navigating various mechanics and beginning to learn the powers that come with some outfits. The tutorial was interesting to work through as it also gave you more information and started to form more of the story for you as a player.

Upon completing the tutorial, you find yourself along with Momo in Miraland. It’s almost as if what you just experienced was a dream. Yet it wasn’t. Now your task was to find your way out from the ruins and to really start progressing into Miraland.

However, this introduction to the main game also takes you through how Nikki acquires the Heart of Infinity and its purpose in this new adventure.

While the Prologue isn’t truly a tutorial, it does give you some information on the fundamentals of the game. Features such as collectables, Bling currency, fighting enemies (aka Esslings), outfit powers, Whimstars and many more. If I’m honest, it’s the perfect way to ease your way into the game, especially if you are new to the Nikki game series.

Chapter One and Beyond

Having made my way through the opening segments of the game, I was really able to start getting into the story. Learn more about the community of Florawish which is where the story truly begins and get to know the various characters in the game. However, it’s also where you start to learn about what it means to be a Stylist and so much more.

While playing through the first chapter, you do start to get a real feel for the game. Not only do you get stuck into the opening moments of the storyline but learn and discover all the other features that make Infinity Nikki the game it is.

Truthfully, there’s so much to discover and learn about now that you are truly into the main game. It’s not just about exploring what it means to be a stylist, but also about beginning to be a Stylist Guild in a community. The role that plays both locally and across Miraland.

However, Chapter One is more than the start of the story. It’s a chance to explore Florawish, learn skills, gain sketches, collect Whimstars, find resources and so much more.

It really does open the door, and leaves you with wandering questions and thoughts as to what happens next in the story. It allows you to begin those meaningful relationships and friendships not only with Momo but with many other key characters in the game.

Overall Impressions from the Exclusive Preview

Well, what can I say?

There are so many things I would love to say about my time with Infinity Nikki, however, at the same time I don’t want to reveal or spoil too much of the game’s magic and charm!

I’m so grateful to have been able to check out the game during the exclusive preview. I think I can say I’ve played a good fifteen hours confidently, plus a few more hours on top of that when I’ve had extra spare moments outside of work. I just wish I had more time to discover more of Infinity Nikki during this time as the experience was just mesmerizing.

While this build is not the final version of the game, there was certainly plenty to discover and explore in Miraland. From the get-go, I was captivated and hooked on the game. It kept me wanting to know and do more, progress the story as much as possible, learn every Sketch, and build my knowledge on every feature in the game. Honestly, I was blown away but just how much there is to Infinity Nikki. There’s so much that adds so many different levels of depth to the game yet at no point did it feel overwhelming. It still kept that super cosy, magical and mystical feeling throughout.

At the same time, I know there may well be aspects of this build that will change or not make it into the final version of Infinity Nikki, and that is only natural. I can say, that I have loved every single moment I’ve been able to spend in this preview build. From learning about Nikki and Momo to discovering each outfit, its powers, scores, secrets and more. Not to mention going up against other Stylists and seeing who could pull off the best outfit. Levelling up my Stylist rank, using my Whimstar’s to unlock more Sketches and outfits, there’s just so much to explore.

Now, I did get myself lost by just letting myself explore the world of Miraland as much as possible. Completing not only the main quests but also a number of side quests. Not to mention the puzzle levels in alternate dimensions, various mini-games, solving Whimstars, and collecting Blings and Dew Inspirations.

I can’t tell you how much time I’ve spent fishing, collecting resources from the local wildlife and crafting new elements of outfits to my heart’s content. I really could have spent so much more time doing this, but I knew I had to get into the story as much as possible.

I previously mentioned earlier in this post about my personal set-up being on the much lower side of the advised specifications. While graphically, I was running on medium settings, for the most part, the game as a whole ran pretty well. I was quite surprised actually at just how well my trusty set-up handled the game. Even during my time with the preview build, I only encountered the very odd moment where I would lag for a second and then continue with no further issues. Yet overall, as I have previously mentioned, I was well and truly impressed at how well it ran on a much older set-up.

One final feature that I enjoyed was taking photos using the in-game camera. It’s something that I just love doing in games and just had a lot of fun tweaking different settings to get some fun screenshots.

Final Thoughts

Infinity Nikki is magical. It’s cosy. It’s mysterious. It’s beautiful.

There is no denying and this is just my impressions from the exclusive preview build. I know there is still so much more to discover and explore when the game is released in full. This will certainly be a game I know I’ll be spending a lot of time with in the future and I can’t wait to see where Nikki and Momo’s journey unfolds. I have many questions, and many thoughts about what may happen, however, I’m also excited to be able to explore Infinity Nikki in much more detail.

While Infinity Nikki has not yet confirmed a release date, I am hoping that it won’t be too long before it is revealed. In the meantime, make sure to follow the Infinity Nikki social media accounts for all the latest information about the game.
