Have you seen this game on Steam or across social media? No? Then let me catch you up to speed!
Doronko Wanko is a free, yes free, game on Steam where you play as a Pomeranian. You are cute, adorable and completely innocent, well that’s what your owner believes. Your mission however is to take this gorgeous house and cover it in mud and make it as dirty as you possibly can!

Changing the Game’s Default Language
Upon starting the game, it will load in Japanese however, you can adjust the game into English. Simply head to the fourth button on the game’s main menu to access the Options. You’ll then need to press E once, which will take you over to the Display menu.
Once you are on this screen, select the last option in the menu with your cursor and use the arrow keys to change the game’s language to English.
Upon completion, your game will now look like this. You can also check out the controls, change audio settings and also, your display mode while you’re at it.
If you don’t want to play with a keyboard and mouse, you can also play with a controller.

Now you are ready to play!
Let’s Get Muddy!
Upon starting the game, you’ll be taken through a short story that gives you the context as to what has been happening with this cute Pomeranian’s human family!
With the short introductory story completed and a quick overview of how to play the game, let’s begin!

Getting started, I just began to run around the house exploring just how big of a task I had ahead of me. As well as making everything as mucky as possible, this innocent-looking pomeranian had another task. To find and uncover twelve secret paintings. These were dotted around the house in different locations. Little hints within the area would lead you to where they were located.
There was no plan or strategy for playing DORONKO WANKO, simply creating chaos. Run into everything, knock everything over and make as much mess as possible. The more mess you make, the more money and damage you cause. However, this works to your advantage as the more damage you cause, will allow you to unlock accessories along the way. This allows you to unlock some cute-looking accessories but, also double as useful tools in your endeavours to cause mayhem.

It took me just over an hour to complete DORONKO WANKO. It may have taken me slightly less time had I not been insistent on trying to cover as much of the house as possible and to be honest, I was having too much fun running around with the pomeranian.
Remember the twelve secret paintings you need to find, well, they will unlock a secret area of the house you can visit once you’ve discovered all of them.
Performance
Overall, the game runs smoothly with next to no issues. The only one I encountered, and this wasn’t even game-related had to do with having other programs running in the background. Simply closing them down fixed my problems. Guess that’s what I get for having an older set up but it’s still going strong!
Overall Thoughts
DORONKO WANKO is a lovely and fun short game that lets you dive straight in and cause mayhem. It’s a great game to help pass the time and with it being free to play was a nice surprise too! The art style, story and music all complement one another and I would happily go back and play this game again.
Do I recommend this game? Of course!
