Outbound is the recently revealed name for Square Glade Games’s upcoming cosy open-world exploration camper van game!
The open-world exploration-crafting game has been a game that has been sharing glimpses as to what is to come over the past few months. However, we now have our first look at an exclusive trailer that was first featured on IGN earlier this week.
Opening with one of the characters sitting in their office cubicle, you can tell that they are just looking for an escape. A new challenge. A new adventure. Then, just like that, you see the garage door open and you’re off! Driving through various landscapes, finding the perfect location to set up, exploring the local area, crafting and starting a new life.
Just from the reveal trailer, there’s plenty to be seen and be discovered. From customizing your camper’s colour, creating the perfect cosy environment, utilizing your available space, living off the grid and even a touch of gardening, Outbound has everything you could ever need!

When Is Outbound Releasing?
There is currently no confirmed release date for Outbound however, details will be shared by the team when they are available. It has been announced that a Kickstarter will be launched soon that will give backers exclusive rewards as well as alpha and beta access to the game. This is similar to what Square Glade Games did with their previous game Above Snakes.
For now, be sure to follow the Kickstarter and wish list the game on Steam.

Initial Thoughts on Outbound
My first thoughts about this game were just pure excitement. I think where I grew up around the camper van scene due to my Dad’s job, the game resonated with me and made me reminisce on the vacations and experiences I had myself.
From my own experience when I was younger, I remember going away in the camper feeling so cosy and it being a unique experience. The fact, this has such a lovely cosy feel to it appeals to me for so many reasons. The exploration and the customization of your camper van space as well as integrating the gardening, sourcing my own resources for energy and automating the process adds a new twist and almost a challenge to the experience!

Even though this is merely a first glimpse at Outbound, I’m excited to see what Square Glade Games has in store for the game going forward. This is definitely a game up my street and I can’t wait to find out more when the Kickstarter launches soon!
