It was never a phase!
Bring Me The Horizon has recently kicked off the UK & Ireland leg of their Post Human: Nex Gen World Tour. Initially, I wasn’t planning on attending as it was a sold-out show and had been for some time. However, I managed to score some last-minute tickets directly from the venue.
Now, I’ve been a fan of Bring Me The Horizon for over 10 years now, and they previously have toured locally to me numerous times. Each time I either missed out on tickets or had prior commitments. This time, however, it was meant to be!
The Support Acts
Supporting Bring Me The Horizon are three acts, Static Dress, Cassyette and Bad Omens. Unfortunately, I was unable to get to the concert in time to see Static Dress (however I did give them a listen on YouTube Music) but I did catch the end of Cassyette’s set and of course all of Bad Omens set.
Bad Omens is a band I’ve only started listening to over the last few months. While I recognized most of their songs, I’m not at the stage where I can confidently name them all. Despite this, they put on a hell of a set. Noah was absolutely amazing live! They really interacted with the crowd and got us hyped for Bring Me The Horizon’s set.
Overall, I really enjoyed watching Bad Omens set, despite struggling to find somewhere to stand initially, I found a quieter spot where I could take in their performance. It was nice to see them live and would definitely recommend going to see them perform live if you get the opportunity to do so. Additionally, if you haven’t listened to their music, go and check them out!

The Main Event
I was not at all ready for this. Partially due to how last minute it was going to the concert, and well we will get to the rest of that shortly.
The stage set-up, even for a smaller venue on the tour, was incredible. Multiple stage levels with a mixture of curtains covering certain areas initially only to reveal all the screens later on through the set.

Before I go on to talk more about the set in full here’s the set list that the band performed.

Back to the Concert
From the moment Bring Me The Horizon stepped on stage and opened with DArkSide you just knew the show was going to be taking it up to the next level! The crowd was something different. Everyone was singing/shouting the lyrics, jumping, mosh pits, and circle pits to each and every song.
I recognized each song, and even though I wasn’t totally confident singing along to all of them, I made the most of it. Even during Shadow Moses, had fun shouting “THIS IS SANDPIT TURTLE“. If you know, you know!
One song I had my fingers crossed that they would play is Kingslayer ft BABYMETAL. It’s a dream collaboration and features one of my favourite groups. Although BABYMETAL weren’t there in person, they were through fox-like persona’s on the main screen. The crowd were so loud for this song. At this point in the show, probably the loudest yet. Even the intro shouting “DO DO DO DO DO DO DODODO DO DO DODO DO DO DO!” It was such a fun song and one of my favourite moments from the show.
After Kingslayer, the band slowed it down with a beautiful acoustic version of their song sTraNgeRs before jumping back hard into Diamonds Aren’t Forever. The energy, the vibe, the atmosphere was perfect.
Another surprise was when Noah from Bad Omens came back out to perform Antivist with Oli. The crowd was wild for this because of Noah’s surprise live collaboration. Studio version when?
As the set began to come to an end, Drown had everyone singing as loud as they could as did Can You Feel My Heart! While waiting for the encore, there was some speculation between people near where I stood, as to what songs they would play and just how many.
With the band back on stage, we had a three-song encore consisting of Doomed, LosT and Throne. Pyrotechnics and confetti were present again as was Oli getting the whole of the standing area sitting down ready to jump up along with him and the band.

Sadly, all good things have to come to an end, but this was honestly one hell of a show. Probably my favourite one I’ve been to in a long time.
Everything was perfect from start to finish. Not only that but the whole staging, the screens and overlays, the interactions between Oli and the crowd, even the interactions with the AI screens and of course the support bands. It was fun, it was heavy, it was emotional, for a spontaneous last-minute decisions, it was such a fun night!
It’s so hard to put into words exactly how it felt, what it was like to finally see one of my favourite bands live. The feeling each song gave you and seeing it performed live with so much passion and energy from every member of the band was unreal!
If you ever get a chance to see Bring Me The Horizon live, do go!
Either way, it was never a phase!

What About the Merchandise?
You can bet I managed to get to the merch stand! Even though my stop at the concert had one of the Bring Me The Horizon pop-up shops, I was unable to go.
Pricing-wise, it was about what you expect from a concert. There was the usual selection of hoodies and T-shirts for all the groups at the show, ranging from around £40 for a T-shirt to £80 for the hoodies. There were also hats, necklaces, bandanas, stickers and more.
I did pick up two T-shirts. One for Bad Omens and the other being the Bring Me The Horizon Tour Location’s top. Both are of good quality and will mix in well with my selection of band-tees of other groups in my wardrobe!
What Is Your Next Concert?
There are a few smaller local ones that may be possibilities in the next month or so, otherwise, it will be Periphery (plus support) in London in February!
For now, I’ll be eagerly awaiting Bring Me The Horizon’s upcoming album that is releasing this Summer!
